The time has come for staying indoors. With daylight dwindling and cold weather rolling in, the need to bring light and warmth to our homes is greater than ever. Luckily, a few Amazon products make that easy.
Fall and winter bring opportunities to slow down and recharge. It’s for this reason that it’s my favorite time of the year. While nature begins to hibernate around us, we are given the same opportunity.
The key to thriving indoors during winter is to make your home cheery and warm. A great way to do this is by luxuriating your senses; filling your home with soothing scents, cozy items, and warm beverages to sip.
The products I recommend in this post do just that: they calm your senses and let you relax into this slow season.
I have vetted each of these items for synthetic materials to ensure you bring only the best quality into your home. Whether you use this list to treat yourself or as a gift guide, I hope you enjoy the products as much as I do.
Part 1: Heavenly Aromas for the Home
Glass Dome Essential Oil Diffuser with Wood Base – Plastic-Free
This diffuser has been a wonderful addition to my craft room. I’ve enjoyed mixing scents to enhance my focus while I create.
Unlike candles or potpourri, diffusers offer versatility in fragrances that you can mix to your liking. An added benefit, especially in the coming dry winter months, is that it acts as a humidifier as well.
I searched Amazon for months looking for a quality glass diffuser. After trying a few, this one became the clear winner. It looks beautiful on my desk and is entirely plastic-free, making it likely to last for years to come.
This diffuser also has a timer feature, meaning it will automatically turn off after a certain amount of time. This will prevent your diffuser from running on empty.
If you are new to essential oil diffusing, this 20-piece essential oil starter set is an excellent bang for your buck. It will give you plenty of fragrances to choose from for your essential oil blends.
100% Natural Beeswax Taper Candles
Beeswax candles are a clean-burning alternative to traditional paraffin candles. True beeswax, like these candles, gives off a subtle honey smell even when they aren’t burning.
They make elegant decorations for your mantle or dining table, especially during the dark winter months.
These beeswax candles are long-burning and dripless. They are also made by a small business in the USA.
If you prefer pops of color, these multicolored beeswax candles may be more up your alley. However, the reviews mentioned that they are quicker to burn than the tapers listed above.
LA JOLIE MUSE Moroccan Amber Natural Soy Candle
This beautiful candle is long-burning and naturally scented. It comes in a variety of scents: rose, jasmine, cedarwood, vanilla, gardenia, and orange.
The candles are made of paraffin-free soy wax and emit no harmful chemicals into the air.
The gorgeous glass container can be repurposed once the candle has been used. They are also shipped in gift packaging, making them perfect to give to loved ones for the holidays.
CalCastle Craft California Grown Preserved Eucalyptus Branches
I bought eucalyptus to bring some color and texture to my mantle and the smell of it brought so much freshness to the living room. It was a wonderful surprise.
This eucalyptus is dried and preserved, meaning it will stay fresh and fragrant for months to come.
The fragrance is just right: strong enough that you smell it when you enter the room, but not overpowering. It pairs wonderfully with the soft honey scent from beeswax candles.
Part 2: Cozy Home Decor
Relexome Ceramic Flower Vase
This cute and unique vase adds a warm touch wherever it’s placed. It makes any bouquet resemble farmers market flowers, bringing summer memories to your home in winter.
This vase looks especially beautiful with eucalyptus but will serve arrangements of all types.
MATAHUM Glass Tealight Candle Holders
These tealight holders are adorably vintage, some of the prettiest ones I’ve ever seen. They come in bulk, which is perfect for having a few in every room.
As for the candles to go inside, these beeswax tealights will add a soft honey aroma to the atmosphere. For a reusable option, battery-operated tealights will do the trick.
With 36 of them, you’ll likely have extras that can be repurposed to make beautiful candles for holiday gifts!
mooas Flip Desk Clock
This clock is a unique alternative to a standard wall clock and is perfect for vintage/modern interiors.
We recently purchased this clock for our living room and it brought some real vintage charm to the space. It makes a soft click every time it flips but it is barely noticeable. It has kept the time perfectly for multiple months, despite some reviews warning otherwise. It’s as functional as it is charming.
Mkono Macrame Storage Baskets
Macrame adds instant coziness to any space. These storage baskets are beautiful and well-made at a good price.
They come in a set of two and have glowing reviews. They will undoubtedly make great gifts during the holiday season as well. You can even go as far as filling them with coffee, teas, and cozy baked goods!
Bearaby Napper Organic Cotton Hand-Knit Weighted Blanket
Weighted blankets can do wonders for your sleep and mental health, especially in these dark and colder months of the year.
When I started using mine, I woke up far less frequently throughout the night. The only downside is it became harder to leave my warm and cozy bed in the morning!
Aside from being aesthetically pleasing and made of quality materials, this particular blanket does not use glass beads to make itself weighted. This means the weight is better distributed and it makes no noise when shifted around. Its knitted texture also allows for ventilation to prevent you from overheating.
This is a high-priced product, but given the quality, it’s justifiable. If you are looking for a similar style at a lower price, this more affordable weighted blanket received positive reviews as well.
DAPU Pure French Linen Sheets Set
Linen is a durable fabric that softens with every wash. It has incredible moisture-wicking abilities that keep you cool in the summer and warm in the winter.
These sheets are an investment that will last the test of time. ‘Tis the season to splurge on products that promote rest, and linen sheets are a wonderful way to do so.
Part 3: Drinks that Bring Warmth From Within
Le Creuset Stoneware French Press
I discovered French pressing when we moved into our house. We had limited counter space and didn’t want a coffee machine. Instead, I opted to use a French press my family bought but never used.
That French press brewed the best cup of coffee I’d ever had.
French pressing gives coffee an extra smooth taste since the coffee percolates in the hot water before you press it. It works for coffee as well as loose-leaf tea and makes multiple cups in each batch.
My first French press was nothing fancy, just glass and metal, and it cracked in the washing machine. I looked all over Amazon for a worthy replacement and could not take my eyes off this Le Creuset one. It’s ceramic and absolutely beautiful. Buying it was a lovely act of self-care and I will cherish it for years to come.
I recommend this French press to anyone who knows they will use it and appreciate it. If you are new to French pressing, you may want to consider purchasing a more affordable French press to make sure you’ll use it. The brew will still turn out great.
The Bean Organic Pumpkin Spice Coffee – Medium Roast Ground Coffee
Fall-spiced drinks are the perfect way to bring comfort and warmth to chilly mornings. The Bean Coffee Co. uses organic beans and natural spices in their delicious pumpkin spice blend. No artificial flavors, all real goodness.
If you prefer grinding your own beans, they sell the same coffee in whole beans as well. The reviews mentioned the pumpkin spice flavor was stronger in the ground coffee blend, but both are delicious.
Davidson’s Organics Herbal Mulling Spices Loose Leaf Tea
Add some mulling spices to a simmering pot of apple juice and you have one of the most enjoyable drinks of the season. It will leave your house smelling scrumptiously festive as well.
These spices are also available in tea bags for quick and easy steeping. If Amazon is your one-stop shop, you can purchase organic apple juice to be delivered as well.
Cocoa Metro Organic Belgian Drinking Chocolate
Drinking chocolate is much richer than standard hot cocoa. It tastes almost as if you’re drinking a melted chocolate bar. It’s the perfect treat on a chilly day.
Belgium chocolate is particularly smooth and velvety. This drinking chocolate is heavenly and made of quality ingredients. It’s received glowing reviews from those who use it for drinking chocolate and to make mochas.
Blue Rose Polish Pottery Winter Nights Bell-Shaped Mug
Making hot drinks for ourselves and loved ones is a wintertime art form. As such, it’s worth having beautiful mugs to hold our beverages of choice.
I grew up in a home full of Polish pottery. My mom loved the delicate repeating patterns and collected many dishes of the sort. Mugs like this one remind me of drinking spiced cider as a kid after playing in the snow.
Polish pottery pieces are a work of art. They are handcrafted, making every piece unique. They are a lovely, cozy addition to your tea or coffee ritual.
I hope this post has provided some cozy inspiration for your fall and winter homemaking endeavors. The gift in this season is what we make of it.
Ask yourself what would make your heart happy during the cold months ahead. Handmade gifts for loved ones? Buying new bedding? Drinking tea each morning? Invest in these things. In winter, we must take care of ourselves especially to keep the blues away.
Remember that the joy in this season comes from within. The more contented your heart, the more warmth and love to share.
Thank you for reading, and I hope your day is filled with blessings.
Until next time,
O&K
